Meet Our Chef
Laurie Taillie has more than 40 years of experience as a professional chef including 21 years as Food and Beverage Director for the Midtown Athletic Clubs. Through the years she has worked alongside some of Rochester’s most celebrated chefs, learning a wide range of cooking styles along the way.
In the early 2000s, Taillie studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIM) in Cincinnati, Ohio, an experience that changed her views on food. At IIM, she learned that beyond taste and smell, there’s a healing that comes with good food.
Taillie has been Head Chef at the UR Nutrition in Medicine Research Center since 2020, where she enjoys cooking healthy meals that are fresh, exciting, and delicious.
About Us
The UR Medicine Nutrition in Medicine Research Center works to understand the effects of nutrition on human health. Utilizing human subject clinical trials, our nonprofit mission is to deepen our understanding of nutrition, not only for prevention and wellness, but also for disease treatment.
